Born in 1961 in Kiel, the professional career of Gernot Brenscheidt started at the Axel Springer Verlag after the completion of law school at the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel and a legal clerkship at both, the University for Management Sciences in Speyer and at the Germany Embassy in Tokyo.

First he was employed as Executive Assistant to the HR Director in Ahrensbourg, later in 1992 he took over the Management of Human Relations, in 1994 he was appointed to the position of the HR Director. In 2006 Gernot Brenscheidt assumed the Management of Human Resources Development at Prinovis Ltd. & Co. KG. Since February, 1th 2009 he acts as Director of HR and labour law for the Prinovis group.
