Runs like clockwork
The new Itzehoe power station is ready. Since the end of last year, the supply experts from Itzehoe and Nuremberg were busy relocating the redundant gas turbine from the Franconian city to the city on the Stör. It is now all moved, in place and tested and the plant Runs like clockwork. At first sight, there is nothing. It may just be noticeable that the »field« before you has been ploughed and that the grass is likely to grow as the days grow longer and warmer now. For the locals who have not been to Prinovis for some time: you have to look twice to see that the power station for the print shop has been extended by one building.
Behind the (new) walls, said gas turbine and the associated waste heat boiler and flue are hidden which, after being dismantled at Prinovis Nuremberg (where it was no longer required) and re-assembled in the Stör city, now has the task of providing the base load of power and heat for the press room. Seems to work quite well too, judging by the intensive and sonorous sound of the turbine which greets the visitor as he enters the building. A brief inspection clearly shows: professionals were at work here. Everything appears perfectly and orderly set out and assembled and is freely accessible from all sides. This is as satisfying to the responsible technician as it is to the head of supplies, who must in future »work« with the plant. As expected, the department of the latter now reports: running like clockwork.
Incidentally, the pictures in this contribution neatly highlight the differences between the »old« boilers and the new gas turbine: round and emotional shapes on the one side and modern and compact high-tech on the other. Be that as it may: both facilities will perform their duty and ensure that the press rooms at Prinovis Itzehoe keep rotating.
