Volker Petersen to take over new responsibilities at Gruner + Jahr

As of July 01, 2007, Dr. Volker Petersen, Chief Integration Officer, Prinovis, will take over new responsibilities at Gruner + Jahr. According to schedule, Petersen will then start his new position as President and CEO at Brown Printing, Gruner + Jahr’s offset printing subsidiary in the United States. With a staff of approximately 2,500, Brown Printing is the fourth-largest newspaper and catalogue printing company in the U.S. Brown Printing’s current President and CEO Tom Engdahl will retire by the end of the year.

After taking over his new position, Petersen will no longer be available as Prinovis executive. “I like to express my deeply felt gratitude to Volker Petersen, a gratitude I share with our entire staff,” said Stephan Krauss, CEO, Prinovis. “Volker Petersen contributed to our excellent cooperation during very challenging times. His influence on the creation of Prinovis was both significant and decisive, his strategic vision was an important motor for the development since the official foundation of the company in July 2005, and he gave some crucial impulses to further the integration. We will miss Volker Petersen both for his energetic personality and his expertise and know-how, yet we are also glad for him as he takes on his exciting new position at Brown Printing, and wish him the best of luck and the success he deserves.”

Volker Petersen’s responsibilities at Prinovis will be taken over by the Prinovis management.
