Prinovis emerged from the amalgamation of the three enterprises Gruner + Jahr, Axel Springer and arvato and all their respective rotogravure printing activities in 2005. The gravure printing activities consist of Pre-press (Repro, Engraving), Pressroom, Finishing and Transport and Logistics. Prinovis furthermore offers additional services such as the photo studios and the advertising agency mbs in Nuremberg and the ”Mobile Solutions“ activities.

The company operates under the legal form Ltd. & Co. KG.

Arvato, Gruner + Jahr AG & Co. KG hold 37.45 percent respectively and Axel Springer AG 25.1 percent of Prinovis. partners

Gruner + Jahr AG & Co. KG with their about 500 online and print products in more than 30 countries, about 15,000 employees and a turnover of 2.77 billion Euro in the business year 2008 are Europe’s biggest magazine publishing company. The operational result before interest and taxes 2008 amounts to 225 million Euros. 74.9 percent of Gruner + Jahr belongs to Bertelsmann AG and 25.1 percent to the Jahr publisher family based in Hamburg. 54 percent of the total turnover is foreign revenues, which makes Gruner + Jahr one of the most international publishing companies of the world.
